Pinterest has given brands an edge with a new update on its user interface. Announced today, the platform has launched a new feature it calls Showcase, allowing visitors who interact with business profiles on Pinterest to see manually selected visuals that best depict the brand.

The Pinterest showcase will rotate to highlight up to five boards and Buyable Pins in the US and can be further customized by brands for seasonality or new offers. Brands who elect not to feature anything in their showcase will not see the showcase on their profile. A prompt will appear to populate one, but it will only be visible to the brand manager.

Showcase is editable only on the web interface, but viewers will be able to benefit from it within iPhone, Android and web. On mobile devices, the showcase sits right where the icons for recent Pins was located.

With the launch of Showcase also comes a small UI enhancement across brand profiles. Now, there’s a separate tab for your boards and a tab for your Pins. Pins you’ve liked are still visible only to you.
