This is one of the easiest ways to advertise on Facebook. You will see a “Boost Post” button underneath all of your posts. You can spend as little as $1, set a lifetime budget, target demographics, and set which dates your want it to run. The simplest way to decide if you could benefit from boosting a post is to boost those posts that do organically well. If you usually only reach 100 people, and a post suddenly reaches 1,000 on its own, it means that people are responding well to it, and it’s worth getting in front of more people. This logic especially holds true when the post directs people back to your website, such as an original blog post that links to your website. Then, you’re getting more exposure on Facebook AND you’re driving more people to your website: win-win.

  1. Promote Your Page

This option is essentially a “Like” campaign. Now, likes are not the most important metric at all when it comes to Facebook, but conversely, the more followers you have, the more people will see your posts. Don’t go overboard with this type of campaign. We like to do $1 per day so that a steady stream of new likes are generated versus paying $100 at once and your like number shooting up drastically. Slow and steady is smarter here and will help you gain more engaged, loyal followers than just a bunch of random people all at once that might not really be the right audience for you.

One of the more important goals of social media efforts should be driving people back to your website to make purchases, book something, request more information, or just learn more about your business. If you are a location-based business, this option is a no-brainer. Facebook advertising geolocates where you are and then you can customize the target location based on a mileage radius. Just like with any of their advertising options, you can drill down to specifics, like age, gender, interests, and which call to action you push (call now, get directions, learn more, send a message, or like page).
